Being single is no excuse to be sad. In this world there are many more important things to melancholy about than not having a significant other at the time. Such as running out of bacon, learning your favorite show has been canceled, or the death of your dog. I say we rejoice in the perfect love that everyone has rather than a flawed temporary one that is reserved only for those with a boy or girl friend. Valentines Day is a day that emphasizes love but it is a romantic love which is inherently limited. Unless you are a polygamist you are supposed to focus all that love on to one other person. God instructed us not to limit our love but to demonstrate it to all. I understand that this is a holiday to focus solely on the romantic love but how often do you actually focus on God’s unconditional love solely. I would like to remind you of a day that is much more important. A day where Christians are called to show unconditional love like that of Christ. Its a day that we must show love to our brothers and sisters in the Lord as well as sinners, our enemies, and the ones that despise and seek to harm us. Valentines day is the day we are called to do things for the one we love, the lovable, the day I speak of is a day to love the unlovable. As well as not specifying a target for our love I have not found in the Word a specific day that God has designated for us to love others. Which leads me to this glorious day God has made to love give love freely to all: Everyday!
